Quick update

Two reviews nearly finished and ready to go up (Blood of Elves and Rivers of London)...I have been having some issues locating copies of other books and rebuying things (exasperated sigh) on the plus side those two reviews should be up in the next couple of days. would have been sunday but I had a last minute shift and then a bunch of people turned up unexpectedly for food and stayed til late. So yeah, watch this space. (also may possibly be able to post this afternoon depending on when the horses' dentist arrives and how long I have between him leaving and rowing :)

New Picture

Hi,
Just a quick update to talk about the awesome picture I put at the top of my blog. It is an original painting for a PERN novel cover. The novel in question is by Anne McCaffrey (one of my favourite fantasy authors). I would highly recommend his awesome website (http://www.lesedwards.com/), he is a proffessional illustrator and I love his artwork. Unfortunately for me I don't have a spare £1500 lying around to buy one of his PERN dragon paintings. However his website has brilliant quality uploads of them all in the gallery and he allows you to download them for desktop wallpapers...
Also I recommend all McCaffrey's books, she is an amazing writer, especially of believable, real characters, her writing is incedible, whether you read PERN, Crystal Singer, or any of her other series', if you love fantasy you'll love her novels.

Sorry for long delay!

Once again, my numerous email addresses came back to haunt me. I have been unable to remember the one that I use to post here so I had to go a very roundabout way of finding out and then resetting passwords and finally logging in!
Right. I have finished a fair few novels since I last posted so their reviews should be up this week (hopefully by Sunday at the latest!). They are: Blood of Elves, one of Poe's short stories, Rivers of London and (if I finish it this week) Pandora's Star.
I have to say Blood of Elves fully exceeded my expectations (and made me wish I could speak Polish so I could finish the rest of the books!); Poe was, well, Poe, well written and creepy; Rivers of London was a present and so dutifully read and surprisingly wasn't too bad, good plot, ok writing and most of the characters were well presented; Pandora's Star (so far at least) is incredible, PFH is one of my favourite modern sci-fi writers and Pandora's Star is a triumph.
So we have all that to look forward to (and I have to finish writing them all!) and again, apologies fo my terrible delay in posting. I really should make a list of all my email addresses!
